Srinagar, May 29: SSM College of Engineering hosted a grand Graduation Day celebration on its campus today to felicitate approximately 500 graduating students from various engineering and management streams.

The prestigious event was graced by eminent dignitaries including Er. Shantmanu (IAS), Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) Higher Education Department J&K Government; Mrs. Roma Wani (KAS), Former Member National Managing Body (Red Cross Society); Dr. G.N. Qasba (IAS), Former Commissioner SMC, Senior Advisor IRADs; Er. M.A. Fazili, Former Chief Engineer J&K Government; Er. Amir Ali Mir, Superintendent Engineer, Rural Engineering Wing Kashmir; Mr. Abdul Manan Tramboo, Chairman Khyber Agro Pvt. Ltd.; Prof. (Dr.) Chuni Lal Vishen, Chairman CASET Experimental School Srinagar; Mr. G.N. Var, President Private Schools Association UT of J&K; Mr. Raja Aijaz Ali (IPS), Chairman Kashmir College of Engineering & Technology, among other notable alumni and respected figures.

Chairperson Mrs. Dilafrose Qazi warmly welcomed the guests and expressed heartfelt gratitude, emphasizing the importance of humanity and compassion in the lives of the graduates. She urged students to serve society with empathy, acting as beacons of hope for the distressed and marginalized.

Chief Guest Er. Shantmanu, an accomplished Mechanical Engineer and IIT alumnus, praised the institution for its resilience through decades of turmoil. He encouraged the graduates to treat their academic journey as a foundation for diverse future endeavors, reminding them that engineering knowledge can open doors beyond the technical field.

Mrs. Roma Wani inspired students to spread love and kindness, highlighting the lasting impact of heartfelt actions and words. Dr. G.N. Qasba shared wisdom from his own graduation, emphasizing that a degree is not just a symbol but a responsibility reflected through one’s conduct.

The event was marked by the distribution of graduation certificates by the Chief Guest and dignitaries, celebrating the achievements of the engineering and management graduates. The management expressed deep gratitude to all the dignitaries and alumni for their presence and support, acknowledging their invaluable contribution to making the event a memorable success.
