Tral, Pulwama, June 26, 2025: To commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the CAUSE NGO–District Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre, Tral Pulwama organized a Signature Campaign today at Tral Bus Stand, aimed at raising awareness on the dangers of substance abuse and encouraging collective community action against drug use.
The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from various sections of society including officials from the Excise Department, Police Station Tral, youth organizations, students, staff members, and community leaders. Their collective involvement underscored the urgent need for joint efforts in combating drug-related challenges in the region.
The event was graced by Hon’ble MLA Tral, Mr. Rafiq Ahmed Naik, and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Rajash, whose presence and support lent significant momentum to the initiative. Participants took part in signing pledges, affirming their personal and social responsibility to live drug-free lives and to act as awareness ambassadors within their communities.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA Tral Rafiq Ahamd Naik” emphasized the importance of early intervention, preventive education, and community support in addressing the rising threat of drug addiction. The campaign also served to strengthen the ongoing mission of the Centre—to provide holistic care, rehabilitation, and awareness programs for a healthier and drug-free society.
Speaking on the occasion, DySP Tral, Mr. Rajash, stated that the police is fully committed to eradicating the menace of drug abuse.He highlighted that several drug traffickers have already been apprehended, and multiple FIRs have been registered against them as part of ongoing efforts to curb the drug menace in the region.
