Budgam, July 21: The 25th Muharram procession was observed today with deep religious devotion in Qumroo, Beerwah (Budgam), drawing a large gathering of mourners (Azadars) who came together to honor the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (A.S.) and his companions at Karbala.
The main Juljanas Sharif procession began from the Markazi Imambargah and proceeded solemnly towards Juljana Asatan via Main Road Arizal. Over a thousand Azadars participated in the march, engaging in traditional chants and matam (ritualistic mourning), expressing their profound grief and reverence for the martyrs of Karbala.
The Budgam district administration, in close coordination with local authorities, ensured the peaceful and smooth conduct of the procession. Security personnel, volunteers, and medical teams were stationed along the route to maintain order and provide necessary support.
In a remarkable act of devotion and community service, 150 youth donated blood during the event—highlighting the spirit of sacrifice, compassion, and unity that is central to Imam Hussain’s (A.S.) legacy.
Expressing the emotional atmosphere of the day, a participant, Muzaffar Hussain, stated, “Hussain is King,” encapsulating the spiritual fervor that resonated throughout the procession.
Another mourner reflected, “The message of Imam Hussain and the tragedy of Karbala continue to inspire generations to stand for truth and justice.”
Special appreciation was extended to the Hardapanzoo Medical Team, Do Police Chowki Hardapanzoo, Police Officer Ajaz Ahmad, and local volunteers for their tireless efforts in ensuring the health, safety, and dignity of the event. The procession concluded peacefully, with the community expressing heartfelt gratitude to the administration, police, and all who contributed to the successful observance of this sacred occasion.
