Kupwara – July 26:In a significant initiative aimed at nurturing students’ academic and career growth, a comprehensive Guidance and Counselling Session was held at the Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Potushai on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

The event was graced by eminent dignitaries from various spheres of administration and academia. Dr. Mudasir Ahmad, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Lolab, attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Syeda Afshana, Head of the Department, Media Education Research Centre, University of Kashmir, was present as the Special Guest.

Among the distinguished guests were Mr. M. Iqbal Shah, District Education Planning Officer (DEPO) Kupwara; Mr. Nazir Ahmad Malik, Zonal Education Planning Officer (ZEPO) Sogam; Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Tantray, Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) and Ex ZEO Mohd Akbar Mir. The programme also acknowledged the presence of Talib Nabi Lone, a recent NEET qualifier, who was applauded for his achievement and served as a motivational figure for aspiring medical students.

Representatives from the School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) were also in attendance, further highlighting the importance of collaborative engagement in educational advancement.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address, followed by a series of inspiring speeches delivered by the dignitaries, focusing on the importance of career planning, mental health awareness, and value-based education. The session also featured a variety of cultural performances and vibrant presentations by the students, showcasing their talent and enthusiasm.

The stage proceedings were efficiently conducted by Syed Zamirul Haq Andrabi, who served as the Stage Secretary for the event. The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Principal Nisara Bano, who expressed deep gratitude to all guests, students, and staff for making the programme a grand success.

Such initiatives play a pivotal role in guiding young minds toward informed career choices and holistic development.
