KUPWARA, AUGUST 15: In connection with the celebration of 79th Independence Day, sub divisions of district Kupwara including Handwara, Lolab and Karnah hosted major functions to celebrate the event with traditional fervor and enthusiasm.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Javaid Naseem Masoodi hoisted the National Flag at District Police Lines Handwara after inspecting the parade. He took salute at march past which comprised the contingents from JKP, JKAP ,BSF, CRPF, IRP and Police band, NCC cadets and students. SSP Handwara, Chowdhary Mushtaq Ahmad , DDC Members, Officers from civil administration, police department and other concerned were present on the occasion.
In Lolab sub division, Independence Day celebration function was held at Government Degree College Sogam where Sub Divisional Magistrate Lolab, Mudassir Ahmad hoisted the National Flag and took salute on the March Past.
Independence Day was also celebrated in border sub division Karnah where SDM Karnah, Zaffar Ahmed Lone hoisted the National Flag at Mini Secretariat Tangdar and took salute on the March past .
The Republic celebrations were also held at all Tehsil, block Headquarters, Panchayats, Government Offices and Education institutions of the district where the National Flag was hoisted by the Heads of the institutions.
