Jammu, Aug 26: Vehicular movement on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) was halted on Tuesday after landslides and shooting stones hit several stretches of the road amid continuous rainfall.
Traffic officials said the highway remains blocked at multiple locations, making travel unsafe. Commuters have been advised to avoid undertaking journeys on NH-44 until the weather improves and the road is cleared.
Authorities added that restoration work will be taken up once conditions allow safe clearance of debris.
