Chairing a meeting at the Raj Bhavan in Jammu, Shah asked agencies to operate in a coordinated manner to eliminate terrorism from the Union Territory. The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Union Home Secretary, the Director of Intelligence Bureau, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP, heads of Central Armed Police Forces and senior officials of the UT administration.

Sources said that the Home Minister “instructed all security agencies to remain alert and function in close coordination to wipe out terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir.”

Reviewing this year’s Shri Amarnath Yatra, which saw over four lakh pilgrims visit the holy cave, Shah appreciated the role of the UT administration and security agencies in ensuring its smooth conduct.

He also praised the efforts of security forces in relief and rescue work during the recent flash floods, assuring “full support of the CAPFs in managing natural calamities.”

Sources also said that Shah emphasised the need for constant vigilance along the borders and hinterland while maintaining pressure on terrorist networks.(KNS)
