Srinagar, Sep 6: In view of the continued closure of Srinagar–Jammu National Highway (NH-44), Northern Railways has announced a special unreserved train service between Sangaldan and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra for five days, starting from September 8 to September 12, 2025.
As per official schedule issued by railway authorities details of which available with news agency JKNS stated that the decision was taken following the request of MLA Srinagar/Jammu, Sh. Kuldeep Raj Dubey, and subsequent approval by the DRM Jammu division to facilitate the movement of stranded passengers.
As per the schedule, Train No. 04685 will depart from SVDK at 08:40 AM daily to Sangaldan, while Train No. 04686 will leave Sangaldan at 2:15 PM for its return journey to Katra. The train will halt at Reasi, Bakka, Dugga, and Sangaldan en route.
Authorities said the arrangement is temporary and will remain in effect only for five days. The service is expected to ease the hardship of passengers stranded due to disruption of road connectivity on NH-44. (JKNS)
