Srinagar, Oct 16: A Traffic Police Sub-Inspector was injured after being hit by a speeding motorcycle near the ATM crossing close to Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar on Thursday.
Reports said the officer, identified as Sub-Inspector Javaid Hussain, was performing his duty when a motorcycle struck him, causing him to fall and sustain severe head injuries. The incident occurred during routine traffic management hours.
Fellow officers and locals immediately rushed to assist him and shifted him to SMHS Hospital Srinagar, where doctors described his condition as stable.
Police have taken cognizance of the accident, and efforts are underway to identify and trace the motorcyclist involved in the hit and run case. [KNT]
