Afghanistan (Kabul), Oct 18: The Afghanistan Cricket Board has decided to withdraw from the upcoming tri-nation T20 series with Pakistan and Sri Lanka in response to the recent airstrikes by Pakistan’s military regime in Paktika, which resulted in the martyrdom of 8 domestic cricket players.
The strikes wounded 4 more players, all who were playing the club level cricket.
The board expressed sorrow over the loss of these players, calling it a great loss for the country’s sports sector, especially cricket.
The tri-series between Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan was scheduled to take place in November.(TOLO News)
