Samba, Dec 17: A sense of alarm prevailed in a village near Mansar in Samba district on Wednesday after locals reported spotting suspicious individuals roaming in the area, Sources said.
Sources told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Villagers promptly informed the police about the movement of the suspects, following which police teams rushed to the spot to assess the situation.
Three unidentified men were seen moving suspiciously in and around the village, they said.
Acting on the inputs, police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Subsequently, a joint search operation involving police and other security forces was initiated in Mansar and adjoining areas.
They said forests, fields, deserted roads and other suspicious locations are being thoroughly combed to rule out any anti-social or anti-national activity. Security forces have been put on high alert and the situation is being closely monitored, they added.—(KNC)
