Kishtwar, Feb 04: A gunfight broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district on Wednesday during an ongoing search operation, officials said.

An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that encounter began in the Dichaar locality after security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation based on intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.

Reinforcements have been rushed to the spot to tighten the cordon, and the operation was underway when last reports came in.

Earlier, security forces killed two terrorists in a separate encounter in Udhampur district, officials said—(KNO)
