Anantnag, Mar 30 : The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Anantnag has ordered the suspension of MRI services at Care Plus Diagnostic Centre following serious violations related to patient safety and alleged misrepresentation.
As per an order issued by CMO Anantnag , the action was taken after a complaint flagged misleading information regarding the MRI facility. An inspection conducted by a designated team found that the centre was operating a 1.5 Tesla MRI machine while projecting it as a 3 Tesla unit to patients.
Officials further observed major gaps in emergency preparedness, including the absence of vital resuscitation equipment such as an AMBU (bag-valve-mask) and the non-availability of a qualified anesthetist during inspection.
Taking cognizance of the findings, the authorities directed the immediate halt of all MRI-related diagnostic services at the facility until further orders.
The order also warned that any violation will invite strict legal action, stating that the move has been taken in the interest of safeguarding patient welfare and maintaining clinical standards. (KNC)
