Srinagar, May 13: In a swift and life-saving response, personnel of the CRPF’s 90 Battalion rescued a civilian driver who suffered a severe heart attack near Shubanpora area of Kulgam along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Wednesday.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the driver suddenly collapsed after experiencing acute chest pain while travelling on the highway, triggering panic among people present at the spot.
Acting without delay, CRPF jawans deployed nearby immediately rushed to assist the man and administered CPR while also providing emergency medication to stabilise his condition. The personnel later shifted the patient to a nearby hospital in an official vehicle, ensuring he received medical attention within the critical “golden hour”.
They said the timely intervention by the CRPF team played a crucial role in saving the civilian’s life and preventing a major tragedy.
Commandant K P Singh lauded the alertness and humanitarian response of the personnel, stating that the force remains committed not only to security duties but also to public service and emergency assistance.
“We are here to serve the people. The jawans acted with professionalism and humanity, and their timely response helped save a precious life,” he said.
