Srinagar, Jun 07: In a major security upgrade ahead of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, the Security Wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police has geared up to deploy an array of state-of-the-art security gadgets and surveillance systems at Yatra camps to ensure the safety and security of thousands of pilgrims expected to undertake the sacred pilgrimage.

The move is aimed at bolstering access control, anti-sabotage operations, surveillance and screening measures along the Yatra route and at designated camp locations.

An official told news agency JKNS that, ahead of forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, the Security Wing, J&K, has enhanced its preparedness by deploying advanced security gadgets to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims at various Yatra camps.

The Security Wing is equipped with a range of modern security devices for Access Control and Anti-sabotage Operations, including Portable RCIED Jammers, Deep Search Metal Detectors, Explosive and Liquid Explosive Detectors, Non-Linear Junction Detectors (NLJDs), Contraband Busters, Prodder Vehicle Search Mirrors, Optical Fiberscopes, Mulitypes CCTV Systems, XBIS, Vehicle-Mounted XBIS, Multi-Zone DFMDs (Fixed/multizone), HHMDs, Search Metal Detectors and other specialized equipments, official said.

To assess operational readiness, a physical inspection-cum-live demonstration of the gadgets was conducted at Security Lines Kashmir, under the supervision of IGP Security, J&K Sujit Kumar Singh IPS and other senior officers, an official said.

The exercise showcased the capabilities of the equipment in strengthening Access Control, Surveillance, Screening and Anti-Sabotage measures.

The Security Wing remains committed to ensuring a safe, secure and hassle-free pilgrimage experience for all devotees during SANJY-2026, official said. (JKNS)
