Jammu, July 3: The administration has appealed to pilgrims intending to undertake the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra to strictly follow the prescribed registration procedures and travel schedule in view of the daily ceiling on pilgrim movement fixed as per the directions of the Supreme Court of India.
Officials stated that the daily maximum number of pilgrims permitted on the pilgrimage route has been fixed to ensure the safety of devotees and the smooth conduct of the annual Yatra. Compliance with this limit is mandatory and no deviation from the prescribed capacity can be allowed.
To facilitate pilgrims, advance registration facilities were made available well before the commencement of the Yatra through designated bank branches across the country as well as online platforms. Authorities noted that a majority of pilgrims have already availed themselves of these facilities and completed their registrations in advance.
The administration clarified that Tatkal (on-spot) registration slots are extremely limited and cannot accommodate the large number of unregistered pilgrims arriving in Jammu and Kashmir. Pilgrims have therefore been advised to travel to the Union Territory only after obtaining advance registration.
Authorities further observed that several registered pilgrims are reaching Jammu and Kashmir before their allotted travel date. Officials emphasized that no pilgrim will be allowed to proceed on the Yatra before the date mentioned in their registration documents and urged all devotees to travel strictly on their assigned dates.
Pilgrims who have reached Jammu and Kashmir without registration have once again been requested to wait for their turn and cooperate with the administration.
The administration assured devotees that every pilgrim would get an opportunity to undertake the sacred Yatra, but only in accordance with the prescribed procedures and the available carrying capacity. Pilgrims have been urged to maintain discipline and extend full cooperation to ensure the safety and convenience of all participants.
