Srinagar, July 23: A security high alert has been issued in Kashmir following the killing of a policeman in a terror attack in Anantnag’s Lal Chowk area on Wednesday afternoon, sources said.
Sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that security across Kashmir has been put on a high alert, with forces intensifying surveillance, strengthening checkpoints and launching search operations.
Meanwhile, in a post on X, Srinagar CRPF Sector also said security across Kashmir has been placed on high alert following the terrorist attack in Anantnag.
“Security forces have intensified surveillance, strengthened checkpoints and launched search operations to maintain law and order. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with security forces,” it said.
As reported earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will chair a high-level meeting to review security situation and Amarnath Yatra at Lok Bhavan in Srinagar today.
