Jammu, Jul 24: The IPS rank Officer Asif Jalal will take over as new Inspector General Border Security Force Jammu Frontier.
IG Jalal will replace Shashank Anand, who took over the Jammu Frontier in February last year.
Official sources said that 2002 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IPS Officer, Asif Jalal is expected to take over the command of strategic Jammu Frontier in next few days that shares International Boundary with the Pakistan.
Jalal was appointed as Inspector General in Border Security Force in February 2022 and has tenure in BSF till September 23, 2027.
The BSF Jammu Frontier guards 192-km of international border covering Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts and is also responsible for security grid in parts of Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district.–(UNI)
