Srinagar, August 22: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) Jammu and Kashmir , State President , Vivek Bali has welcomed the recent remarks of the US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, during his visit to Srinagar, particularly his statement that Jammu and Kashmir is an important part of India.
Bali said the statement is significant and reflects the changing ground realities in Jammu and Kashmir, where the security situation has improved and new opportunities are emerging in the areas of development, tourism, investment and employment.
He also welcomed the Ambassador’s positive observations regarding the efforts of the Government of India and the Jammu and Kashmir administration towards strengthening peace, stability and normalcy in the region.
“Jammu and Kashmir is an integral and important part of India. The positive remarks by the US envoy reflect the changing realities on the ground. The people of J&K deserve peace, prosperity, development and equal opportunities,” Bali said.
The SBSP State President said the changing situation should encourage greater international engagement with Jammu and Kashmir, focused on development, democracy, tourism, economic growth and the aspirations of its people, rather than viewing the region solely through the prism of conflict and terrorism.
Bali emphasised that the priority should remain strengthening democratic institutions, ensuring good governance, creating employment opportunities and accelerating development across all regions and communities of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that peace and stability must be consolidated through inclusive development and equal participation of the people in the democratic and constitutional framework of the country.
“The future of Jammu and Kashmir must be shaped by peace, progress, constitutional democracy, social harmony and economic empowerment. The positive transformation taking place in J&K should be recognised and further strengthened through sustained efforts by the government and all stakeholders,” Bali said.
