Budgam, September 5: The annual Dastarbandi and certificate distribution ceremony of Darul Uloom Islamia Beerwah, Budgam, was held with religious devotion, enthusiasm and dignity, attended by prominent Islamic scholars, teachers, students, parents and a large number of local residents.
The ceremony was attended by renowned religious scholars, including Mufti Muzaffar Qasmi, Mufti Abdul Rasheed Mufti and Mirwaiz Central Kashmir Syed Abul Latif Bukhari, besides other religious personalities. In their addresses, the speakers highlighted the importance of religious education, unity, brotherhood, moral values, character building and service to society.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the successful completion of the Alimiyat course by five students, while one student successfully memorised the Holy Quran and was honoured with the prestigious title of Hafiz-e-Quran.
On the occasion, the graduating students were formally honoured with Dastarbandi, while certificates were also presented to them in recognition of their academic achievements. The achievement of the newly qualified Hafiz-e-Quran added a special significance to the ceremony, with those present expressing their happiness and joy over his remarkable accomplishment.
Several emotional moments were witnessed during the event, particularly when the parents of the Hafiz-e-Quran became tearful with happiness. Their tears reflected years of prayers, sacrifices and continuous encouragement, serving as a touching testament to the hard work and dedication of the students, their parents and teachers.
Addressing the gathering, Mirwaiz Central Kashmir Syed Abul Latif Bukhari stressed the importance of unity, brotherhood and social harmony. He said that the progress and prosperity of society are possible only when people remain united and collectively work towards promoting peace, love and goodwill.
Other religious scholars also emphasised that alongside religious education, character building, moral training, discipline and high Islamic values should become an integral part of life. They urged parents to encourage their children to pursue both religious and modern education and to pay special attention to their moral upbringing.
The speakers appreciated the role of Darul Uloom Islamia Beerwah, stating that the institution is playing an important role in promoting religious education, nurturing moral values and preparing individuals with strong character and a spirit of serving society and humanity.
The graduating students were advised to continue their pursuit of knowledge and to make humility, sincerity and discipline an integral part of their lives. They were also encouraged to make the service of humanity their guiding principle.
On behalf of the institution, Molvi Shahid Ahmad expressed gratitude to all the religious scholars, teachers, parents, students and local residents for their participation and support. He prayed that Allah bless Darul Uloom Islamia Beerwah, its students and all those associated with religious education, and grant the institution continued growth and success.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the bright future and success of the graduating students, particularly the newly qualified Hafiz-e-Quran, as well as for the further progress, prosperity and strengthening of Darul Uloom Islamia Beerwah.
