Srinagar, 07 Oct 26: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) J&K , State President , Vivek Bali has strongly criticised the functioning of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, alleging that successive sessions have failed to deliver substantial work or address the pressing concerns of the people.
Vivek Bali said that several Assembly sessions have been held since the formation of the government, yet major public issues continue to remain unresolved. He particularly highlighted the concerns of Daily Wagers, NHM employees and other sections of employees and workers who are awaiting concrete action from the government.
He alleged that the National Conference and BJP are engaging in political collusion and mutual blame-games, which, according to him, are diverting attention from genuine public issues and consuming valuable Assembly time.
“Instead of wasting the precious time of the Assembly in political confrontations, both the government and the opposition should focus on issues that directly affect the lives and livelihoods of the people,” Bali said.
Referring to the issue of Daily Wagers, Bali said that the government had assured protesters that their concerns regarding regularisation and other demands would be addressed within six months. However, he said that considerably more time has passed and the issues remain unresolved.
He further stated that the people of Jammu & Kashmir are facing serious challenges, including unemployment, rising inflation, electricity and water-related problems, difficulties faced by farmers and the growing drug menace.
“The people are distressed and looking towards their elected representatives for solutions. Public money and valuable time should not be wasted on political blame-games. The priority must be governance, accountability and delivery,” Bali said.
Bali appealed to all major political parties to set aside personal and political differences and work together in the larger interest of Jammu & Kashmir.
He called for the establishment of a common vision for the development and welfare of the Union Territory, stressing that political disputes and mutual accusations cannot solve the problems confronting ordinary citizens.
“Politics should ultimately be about serving the people. The government and opposition must rise above their differences and work together on issues of unemployment, development, basic services, agriculture and the fight against drugs. The people deserve results, not endless political arguments,” Vivek Bali added.
