Budgam, October 20, 2026: The MPL T20 Cricket Tournament 6th Edition 2026, organized under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan by Social Activist Muzamil Mehmood, concluded successfully at Gulshan Ground, Manchhama, with 32 teams from across District Budgam participating in the tournament.
The grand finale was played between Elite Strikers Meeripoora and Valley Strikers Chairhara with Valley Strikers Chairhara emerging victorious and lifting the championship trophy.
Speaking on the occasion, Social Activist Muzamil Mehmood highlighted the vital role of sports in keeping youth physically active, mentally strong and away from drug abuse. He said that sports provide a positive platform for young people to channelize their energy, develop discipline, build confidence and work towards a healthier and brighter future.
He reiterated the message “No to Drugs, Yes to Sports”, urging young people to stay away from drugs and actively participate in sports and other constructive activities.
The tournament, aimed to promote sportsmanship, youth empowerment, healthy lifestyles and awareness against drug abuse.The initiative also sought to encourage greater youth participation in sports and contribute to the broader vision of a Drug-Free India.
The successful conclusion of the tournament reflects the commitment of the organizers towards engaging youth through sports and creating a positive, healthy and drug-free environment for the younger generation.
