SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 09: In a massive drive illicit crops of Bhung spread over 200 kanals of land was today destroyed at village Melhora and Windana Watchi here.
The drive was conducted by a team of officials from various departments headed by SDM, Zainapora.
SDM warned Bhung cultivators against the cultivation of Bhung crops and directed Tehsildars to keep vigil on Bhung cultivation and take stern action against those found involved in Bhung cultivation.
He said that 1028 kanals of illicit Bhung crops have been destroyed so far at village Melhora and Wandina and directed the concerned Tehsildar to give extract of land to Excise and Taxation Department.
The SDM also directed Excise & Taxation Department for lodging of an FIR by name under relevant position of Law against Violators (Bhung Cultivators).
Stressing for intensifying anti- Bhung Cultivation Drive, SDM underlined the need for inter- Departmental Coordination for carrying effective drive against cultivators of illicit Bhung cultivation.
