After landslides, tehsildar bans stone quarrying at Hardushiva

In order to avoid any loss after landslide at Hardushiva stone quarrying site, authorities have completely banned stone quarrying in the area.

“Whereas, this oflice has issued an order under section 133 of CrPe Vide No. 277 OP Dngr/18 dated 05-02-2018 wherein all the persons i involv ing in stone quarry ing at village Hardushiva were directed to desist trom such practice and stone quarrying was banned there under, reads an official order issued by Tehsildar Dangarpora, adding that Whereas, it appeared to the undersigned that with the lapse of time many persons have again started such practice unlawfully which has made the area around prone to land slides and soil erosion, the same poses threat to people residing in the lower belt of the hill.

Whereas, a major landslide has occurred on 09-09-2020 at the same stone quarry ing site and the site has become prone to further landslides and soil erosions and the same may pose a great threat to the life and property of the people residing in the lower belt of the hill, order further reads while adding that therefore, in order to prevent the loss of ife and property, the stonei quarry ing at the site is strictly banned and all the persons involved are directed to desist from such practice in future. Any violation of the order shall warrant criminal proceedings against the violator.
