Jammu and Kashmir on Friday recorded nine more deaths due to Novel Coronavirus, thus taking the toll of deaths due to COVID-19 to 858 in the Union Territory.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that nine patients who died include a 70-year-old man from Gund Beerwah Budgam, an 85-year-old man from Pattan Baramulla, a 50-year-old man from Kachi Chawni Jammu, a 63-year-old woman from Vikas Nagar in Patoli Jammu, a 60-year old woman from Narwal Jammu, a 50 year-old woman from Top sher Khania Jammu, a 34-year-old man from Nai basti Jammu, a 38-year-old male from Samba while another patient has died at GMC Jammu whose detail was not available.

An official from SMHS said that a patient from Gund Beerwah Budgam who was admitted on 03 September died on Friday.

An official from SKIMS Soura said that a patient from Pattan Baramulla who was admitted on 08 September died on Friday.

An official from Jammu said that a 50-year-old man from Kachi Chawani Jammu was admitted at the GMC’s emergency ward on September 10 who was suffering from multiple ailments and had tested positive for COVID-19 died on Friday.

He said another elderly person from Vikas Nagar in Patoli of Sarwal area and a woman from Narwal who had tested positive also died on Friday.

He added that four more patients including a patient from Top sher Khaniao, a patient from Nai Basti Jammu and a patient from Samba also died on Friday.

Officials said that one more patient has died due to COVID at GMC Jammu. However, his details were not available till the report was last filed.

With nine more deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 858 including 720 from Kashmir division and 138 from Jammu division
