Total cases 96,700, Death toll reaches 1,511 deaths; recovery rate over 92 percent in UT

Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday recorded 11 Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,509 in the Union Territory while 512 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 96,700.

Of the total 96,700 cases, 58,225 are from Kashmir and 38,289 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 512 new cases, 326 belong to Kashmir division while as 186 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 58,225 including 52,904 recoveries and 1,001 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 38,475 including 36,350 recoveries and 510 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,935 including 4,320 from Kashmir division and 1,615 from Jammu division.

With 536 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 89,254 which is 92.29 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 135 from Srinagar, 35 from Budgam, 67 from Baramulla, 10 from Pulwama, 32 from Kupwara, 02 from Anantnag, 18 from Bandipora, 16 from Ganderbal, 04 from Kulgam and 07 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 186 from Jammu division include 98 from Jammu, 09 from Rajouri, 11 from Udhampur, 10 from Doda, 11 from Kuthua, 03 from Poonch, 06 from Samba, 18 from Kishtiwar, 16 from Ramban and 04 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours nine persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include from two Kashmir division and seven from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Srinagar and Baramulla in Kashmir division while as seven deaths from Jammu division include four from Jammu and one each from Doda, Kuthua and Ramban.

As per officials figures, 19,838 positive cases including 367deaths and 18,094 recoveries are from Srinagar, 6,105 including 94 deaths and 5,763 recoveries are from Budgam, 6,295 including 4,791 recoveries and 147 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,724 including 4,454 recoveries and 83 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,550 including 73 deaths and 4,063 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,268 including 4,021 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,093 cases including 3,870 and 46 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,623 including 3,379 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,499 including 2,369 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,230 including 2,100 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 17,988 including 17,049 recoveries and 264 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,223 including 3,107 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,755 including 2,588 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,680 including 2,554 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Doda, 2,479 including 2,394 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,270 including 2,121 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,193 including 1,934 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 1,967 including 1,853 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,627 including 1,522 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Ramban and 1,293 including 1,198 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 662,751 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 16,249 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,935 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 595,057 persons have completed surveillance period and 43,999 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,391,065 samples are available.

Out of 2,391,065 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,294,365 while as 96,700 have tested positive, among them 5,935 are active, 89,254 persons have recovered and 1,511 persons have died
