After attacking security forces, fleeing Militants were tracked down: Police
1 militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter in Meej area of Pampore in South Kashmir’s Awantipora.
Official sources while divulging the details to GNS said that after militants attacked search party yesterday, the fleeing militants were chased and tracked down in nearby area of Pampore.
Operation was halted yesterday late evening due to darkness as it has become regular norm during an encounter. However as the first light of the day striked, the operation was resumed, they said.
In ensuing gunfight, one militant has been killed, however identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained, the officer added.
Yesterday, Two civilians were injured, one of them critically after militants attacked the search party of security forces in Meej area of Pampore.GNS
