COVID-19: 5 patients die, 532 test positive in J&K

Jammu and Kashmir today recorded 05 Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,528 in the Union Territory while as 532 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 98,337.

Of the total 97,337 cases, 59,241 are from Kashmir and 39,096 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 532 new cases, 324 belong to Kashmir division while as 208 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 59,241 including 54,154 recoveries and 1,013 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 39,096 including 37,071 recoveries and 515 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,584 including 4,074 from Kashmir division and 1,510 from Jammu division.

With 688 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 91,225 which is 92.76 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 132 from Srinagar, 44 from Baramulla, 43 from Budgam, 15 from Pulwama, 44 from Kupwara, 07 from Anantnag, 09 from Bandipora, 24 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 03 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 208 from Jammu division include 96 from Jammu, 15 from Rajouri, 38 from Udhampur, 03 from Doda, 05 from Kuthua, 07 from Poonch, 03 from Samba, 18 from Kishtiwar, 19 from Ramban and 04 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours five persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include four from Kashmir division and one from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Srinagar and Budgam and two from Baramulla in Kashmir division while two deaths from Jammu division include each from Jammu district.

As per officials figures, 20,291 positive cases including 374 deaths and 18,544 recoveries are from Srinagar, 6,451 including 149 deaths and 5,257 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,218 including 5,840 recoveries and 95 deaths are from Budgam, 4,760 including 4,496 recoveries and 83 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,657 including 73 deaths and 4,135 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,293 including 4,037 recoveries and 75 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,120 cases including 3,913 and 46 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,690 including 3,434 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,509 including 2,378 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,252 including 2,120 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 18,275 including 17,365 recoveries and 266 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,259 including 3,121 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,824 including 2,626 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,704 including 2,560 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Doda, 2,503 including 2,421 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,290 including 2,170 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,210 including 2,108 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 2,024 including 1,886 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,680 including 1,553 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,327 including 1,261 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 666,639 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 15,430 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,584 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 600,832 persons have completed surveillance period and 43,265 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,461,279 samples are available.

Out of 2,461,279 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,362,942 while as 97,337 have tested positive, among them 5,584 are active, 91,225 persons have recovered and 1,528 persons have died
