Bandipora, Nov- 10: For the welfare of farming community in general and for women farmers in particular, Mahila Kisan Shahaktikaran Pariyojna ( MKSP ) established as many as 15 Custom Hiring Centres in Block Sumbal of Bandipora district.
The event was inaugurated by the Additional Mission Director, Kashmir, JK RLM .
While speaking on the occasion AMD Mr. Sajid Naqash said that the facilities of Custom Hiring Centres shall highly benefit the Mahila Kisans in reducing drudgery , cutting cost of cultivation by reducing labour costs and help the farming community enhance their farm productivity besides improving their financial health.
Machinary and equipments related to farm mechanisation procured under the scheme were handed over to the CLFs for use by the farming community of the area. The CFCs are equiped with Power weeders, Multi Crop Threshers, Irrigation pump set, Drum Seeder, Power operated sprayers and Reaper attachment, milking machines etc.
AMD also flagged off ‘Farm to Kitchen’ initiative on the occasion to ensure marketability of the produce. (6) six truckload of form produce produced by the SHG members of the block shall operate regularly carrying Fresh vegetables, milk, ghee, dry vegetables,walnuts,
butter and eggs etc. to different areas of Srinagar city from 7.00 am to 10.00 am on daily basis.
AMD said that Farm to Kitchen initiative will help farmers in capturing best available market and give filip to their income by fetching remunerative prices for their produce.
Mahila Kisans who attended the event in large number were all upbeat for getting all required assistance from subject experts on latest interventions in farm Livelihood.
