Search operation continued for the 5th consecutive day in Machil Sector after a deadly face off between militants and Joint Forces during wee hours on last Sunday.
Three soldiers, a BSF Jawan and 3 militants were killed at Chontiwari Bala of Machil area on Sunday.
An official told news agency KNT that search operation is underway and thorough searches are being made in dense forest. “It’s a difficult terrain. Drones and sniffer dogs are being pressed into service. There are reports that some militants may still be present in the area,” he said.
The official added that no contact with any infiltrator has been established after last Sunday’s standoff. “We are trying to ensure that no militants are present in the area,” he said adding that search operation will continue in coming days. KNT
