A truck conductor died even as three other persons sustained injuries after an apple-truck they were boarding turned turtle along Qazigund national highway at Chawalgam Laroo bye-pass area in south-Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday evening.
Reports reaching GNS said that the truck bearing Registration number JK-02AE 3917 turned upside down as the driver presumably lost control over the vehicle.
In the accident, conductor of the vehicle died on the spot and three on-board persons including driver sustained injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Sajad Ahmad Khatana son of Gh Rasool Khatana resident of Ganderbal and the injured as Mohammad Altaf Khatana resident of Kangan Ganderbal, Ghulam Ahmad Shah son of Hamidullah Shah and Abdul Rasheed Mandu son of Ghulam Rasool Mandu a resident of Bijbehara.
The injured were rushed to District Hospital Kulgam, where all of them are said to be responding well to the treatment, reports said.
Meanwhile a police official has confirmed the incident and said that a case is underway in this regard as to ascertain cause of the accident. GNS
