People from Sheikhpora Shangus area of Anantnag district on staged a protest against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for failing to provide them drinking water.
Scores of women from Sheikh pora Shangus assembled on road and stages protest against Public health engineering department.
The residents told that due to immense shortage of drinking water family the residents approached concerned authorities many a times, but nothing was done on ground level.
Women protestors said they have to fetch drinking water from miles away.Locals have appealed to district adminstration as well as concerned authorities to look into the matter and resolve problem as soon as possible.
Meanwhile speaking with AEE phe department Mohammad ayoub he said that we have enlisted new pipes under DDMA scheme and new pipe line will be installed after two months. We are trying best to solve the problem and provide scheduled water supply to the area.
