People in Anantnag district saturday arms up against Power Development Department locals said that with the onset of the winter the villages witnessed unscheduled power cuts.
The locals of Ara Koshipora and its adjacents took on street stages protest against PDD The villages including Palpora ,Ara Koshipora Damhaal and Hakoora ,face problems due to unscheduled power cuts and have increased especially during the evening hours.
“Instead of ensuring regular power supply, the Power Development Department is resorting to forced cuts,” said aresident.
Residents of various areas in Anantnag district said that their areas were witnessing repeated power cuts, both in the mornings and evenings.
“We spend evenings in complete darkness,” due to frequent power cuts said a local.
They said that the unscheduled curtailments were hampering the studies of their children preparing for different exams.
Locals said that the work of receiving station at Ara koshipora are going as snails pace which suffers adjacent villages.
We have approached to higher authorities but nothing was done on ground level instead of fake promises by Department.Residents have appealed to District Adminstration Compelete Recieving station as soon as possible and resolve our daily routine problem.
Meanwhile Speaking with Executive Engineer PDD, Fayaz Ahmad he told that they would ensure and will provided power supply as per the schedule.but due to overloading of some feeders and system constraints.
“We urge the people to cooperate and not indulge in misuse of power by using high-voltage electronic gadgets including heaters and boilers during peak hours so that power supply is provided as per schedule,” he said.
