Srinagar: RNA: In a major crackdown on food and Supplies department officials, the Anti-Corruption Bureau Monday raided the residential houses of at least twenty senior officers and officials of the department in connection with misappropriation of additional quota of rice meant for AAY consumers . The raids were carried out mainly in the North Kashmir region and the sleuths are believed to have recovered many important documents related to the case during the raids. RNA has learnt from sources that multiple teams of the ACB headed by various senior officers Monday morning carried out raids at Baramulla, Bandipora, Sopore, kupwara , Srinagar and Budgam residences of many serving and retired officers and officials of the Food and Supplies department.
The sleuths were searching for documents with regard to the case already filed in the investigating Agency for alleged misappropriation of funds to the tune of more than one crore rupees on account of Additional Rice meant for AAY category in 2017-19.
Sources told that those whose houses were raided include ShariqIqbalLone (then Assistant Director) at Naaz Colony Bandipora,Fayaz Ahmad Shah (then Assistant Director) at IllahibaghBuchpora Srinagar,Mushtaq Ahmad Wani (then Assistant Director) at Bemina Srinagar, Mudasir Ahmad Wani( then Assistant Director) at Uri , Mohammad HussainBhat (then TSO Baramulla-B) at KanisporaBaramulla,Bashir Ahmad Kakroo(then TSO Baramulla-B) at KanisporaBaramulla, Nazir Ahmad Lone(then TSO Singhpora) atHamporaKralgundHandwara, Mohammad Rafiq Khan (then TSO Sopore-B) at TengporaBatmaloo Srinagar, Bashir Ahmad Pir (then TSO Rafiabad-A) at Bilal Colony Bemina Srinagar, Mohammad Hashim Dar (then TSO Tangmarg) at ChadooraBudgam, Mohammad Saleem Shah (then Store Keeper ) at Model Town Sopore, Bashir Ahmad Bhat (then Store Keeper) at KhanpethSinghporaPattan, Ali Mohammad Lone (then Store Keeper) at Shalkote Panzla Rafiabad, Ghulam Mohammad Lone (then Store Keeper) at Ushkura Baramulla, Hilal Ahmad Hajam (then Storekeeper) at KhanporaBaramulla, Nisar Ahmad Turk (then Store Keeper) at KanisporaBaramulla, Jaswinder Singh (then Store Keeper) at FatehporaBaramulla,
