Srinagar, Feb 13: A local court here has forwarded to Station House Officer Cyber Cell here a complaint for “necessary action” into an alleged scam by “online application”.

The complainant (name withheld) has alleged that the online application promised its investors three percent commission over the principal amount within 24 hours.Accordingly, the complainant said that he submitted Rs 41,517 during one week but the principal amount was not returned nor any profit given as “assured by the online application.”

The complainant submitted that he tried to contact the customer care center of the “online application” but there was no response.”The complainant is not the only victim of the application but the millions of people who have invested in the said mobile application continuously from last two months have been also duped.”

He said that the modus operandi of the application with office at Bangalore was to deceive the innocent people by grabbing their amount and run away.

In his plea filed by him through advocate Shahzaad Saleem, the complainant sought a direction from the court to the Incharge of cyber crime police station for constituting Special Investigating Team to investigate the matter to unravel the complete “modus operandi”, identify perpetrators, and recover the amount of the complainant as well as that of the other victims.

The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Gowhar Majeed Dalal forwarded the complaint to the SHO cyber cell for necessary action under law, advocate Shahzaad Salim told GNS. (GNS)
