Banihal, Feb 15: A youth from Banihal born in construction business family has come up with an initiative ‘Cake Town’ where is providing top quality bakery along with coffee to customers besides providing job to over one dozen people.

Waleed Bin Saif, 26, a resident of Banihal town who has completed his B tech from Jammu University in the year 2017 has come with this initiative in July last year amid Covid lockdown.

Waleed while talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)- said that after completing his B tech, the family wanted him to remain associated with family contractor business, however, he didn’t get any satisfaction and happiness after remaining associated with the same for about two years.

“After giving it a thought for some time, I realized there is a need to do something new which will satisfy me and make me happy and I started a cafe with name Cake Town in Banihal town on the national highway,” he said.

“Firstly, I started with three people as family support was very less. However, after getting a bit of success, the family started supporting me,” Waleed said, adding that he went on to expand his cafe after positive feedback where at present over one dozen persons are earning their livelihood while working with him.

“We are making a bakery here which has got very famous in just a few months. We are now even getting orders from every corner of Jammu and Kashmir, he said, adding that he wants to further expand it so that he can serve people in a better way.

“We have given ethnic appearance to this cafe so that it can connect customers with the local culture besides that I want to develop this cafe in such a way so that it can provide a platform to the budding talented youth where they can showcase their talent,” Waleed said—(KNO)
