Sopore, 18 Feb : Catering dozens of villages in its catchment Sub District Hospital (SDH) in north Kashmir’s Sopore in Baramulla district is without Block Medical Officer (BMO).
Since the former Block Medical Officer SDH Sopore Dr. Asif Khanday left the charges, no-one took the charge as New BMO, locals complained.
The hospital is without its head (Block Medical Officer) from last one month thus affecting it’s smooth functioning.
Hospital is supposed to be headed by a medical officer but unfortunately SDH Sopore is headless since last one month, they added.
The absence of the BMO has badly hit the affairs of the hospital as a result of which both the doctors and para-medics posted at the facility suffer,” a doctor posted at SDH Sopore said.
Meanwhile various local bodies such as Traders, Civil Society and Economic Alliance has urged the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla to intervene for early redressal.
Pertinently an order was issued on 29th January, 2021 and reportedly Dr. Aadil Kangoo was supposed to join as new BMO SDH Sopore.
Reports reaching said that Dr. Aadil Kangoo has not joined the duties till date for reasons unknown.
