Rasool Mir Day was organised to celebrate the renowned poet of Kashmir – RASOOL MIR* for his charismatic contribution in the field of poetry who has changed the dynamics for kashmiri culture and kashmiriyat. It’s been a long time, almost 30 years if we count in numbers, that this remarkable personality has been forgotten and locals were devoid the pleasure of his cherished compositions due to terrorism and Geo -political turbulence in Kashmir.
Now as things have started improving day by day, we all are witnessing “Naya Kashmir”, heading towards betterment of Kashmir. The youth yearns for his Kashmiri identity without outside biases*. This event was organised for the youth to connect to his roots and identify with kashmiriyat.
The event witnessed more than 1000 locals coming not only from Anantnag but all over from Kashmir Valley. Some of the renowned Kashmiri artist like Shazia Bashir, Souwkat Sultanpuri, Raja Nisar, Mouiddin Arabali mesmerised the audience with Kashmiri Songs. The school children from Doru also performed at the event.
The audience were completely enthralled and happy to see their old culture reviving.
On Festival Maj Gen Rashim Bali, SM, VSM GOC VICTOR FORCE attent as Chief Guest while other dignitaries included Brig VS Thakur, Commander 2 Sector RR, Mr Sandeep Chaudhary SSP ANANTNAG along with DDC members and other civic authorities officials. These kind of events not only motivates youth in right direction but also gives them inner view to incline themselves towards Kashmiri culture and kashmiriyat in a evolved manner.
