Sopore, 25 March : Sopore Police on Thursday arrested a bootlegger and recovered 22 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.
A Police official told, a special Naka was laid at national highway near Sangrama where Police Party of Police Station Tarzoo led by SHO Insp. Bilal Khanday intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no JK04B-9591 and upon checking 22 Bottles of illicit liquor was recovered.
Official identified the accused as Farooq Ahmad Ganie Son of Ghulam Nabi Ganie a resident of Langate Handwara
The vehicle used in commission of crime was also seized, he added.
Meanwhile a case FIR No. 20/2021 U/S 48 E Act has been registered at Police Station Tarzoo and further investigation has been initiated.
