In this regard the guidelines for COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) were issued by the Chairperson of State Executive Committee B V R Subrahmanyam, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

Subrahmanyam said that in view of the recent spike in reported cases of infections, educational institutions are strongly advised to take full safety precautions especially by ensuring social distancing, staggered attendance, maintaining sanitation and hygiene, early identification and isolation of suspect cases.

He said that an important guideline of Ministry of Educations’ (MoEs) SOP is also reiterated in this regard that wherever possible, online or distance learning shall continue to be the preferred mode of teaching and shall be encouraged and where schools have been conducting online classes smoothly, and some students prefer to attend these online classes rather than physically attend the school, they may be permitted to do so.

The chief secretary said that all activities shall continue to be permitted in the UT with immediate effect from April-01-2021, outside the containment zones, till further orders.

“The orders issued shall be regulated strictly in terms of the SOPs,” Subrahmanyam said—(KNO)
