Tally at 130,587, One more death reported, toll 1,990; Active cases increase to 2,293; recovery rate decreases to 96.72 per cent

Srinagar, Mar 30: The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to rise as 359 fresh positive cases, highest in the ongoing year, were reported on Tuesday pushing the number of active cases near 2,293 which otherwise were less than 600 a few weeks before.
One more death was reported in J&K in last 24 hours taking toll of deaths to 1, 990 and active cases continues to increase and recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 359 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday pushed the tally of positive cases to 130,587.
Of the exact number of 130,587 cases, 77,719 are from Kashmir and 52,868 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 359 new cases, 266 belong to Kashmir division while as 93 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 77,719 including 74,786 recoveries and 1,255 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 52,868 including 51,518 recoveries and 735 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2,293 including 1,678 from Kashmir division and 615 from Jammu division.
With 175 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 126,304 which is 96.72 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 150 from Srinagar, 46 from Baramulla, 19 from Budgam, 12 from Pulwama, 05 from Kupwara, 10 from Anantnag, 03 from Bandipora, 05 from Ganderbal, 14 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 93 from Jammu division include 59 from Jammu, 07 from Udhampur, 02 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 19 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 03 from Poonch, 02 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 28,903 positive cases including 471 deaths and 27,467 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,785 including 178 deaths and 8,300 recoveries are from Baramulla, 8,182 including 7,918 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,987 including 5,818 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,796 including 97 deaths and 5,640 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,167 including 5,042 recoveries and 94 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,756 cases including 4,669 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,709 including 4,645 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,787 including 2,702 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,647 including 2,585 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 25,867 including 25,027 recoveries and 381 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,352 including 4,275 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,893 including 3,827 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,455 including 3,386 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,318 including 3,225 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,858 including 2,802 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Samba, 2,756 including 2,717 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,545 including 2,502 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Poonch, 2,159 including 2,115 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,665 including 1,642 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,496,738 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 27,249 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 2,293 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,346,348 persons have completed surveillance period and 118,858 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 6,017,096 samples are available. Out of 6,017,096 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,886,509 while as 130,587 have tested positive, among them 2,293 persons are active, 126,304 persons have recovered and 1,990 persons have died—(KNO)
