COVID-19: J&K reports two fresh deaths, 561 fresh positive cases

Srinagar, Apr 06: The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to rise as 561 fresh positive cases were reported on Tuesday pushing the number of active cases near 4,483 which otherwise were less than 600 a few weeks before.

Two more deaths were reported in J&K in last 24 hours taking toll of deaths to 2,012 and active cases continues to increase and recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 561 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday pushed the tally of positive cases to 134,015.

Of the exact number of 134,015 cases, 80,309 are from Kashmir and 53,706 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 561 new cases, 384 belong to Kashmir division while as 177 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 80,309 including 75,704 recoveries and 1,271 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 53,706 including 51,816 recoveries and 741 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,483 including 3,334 from Kashmir division and 1,149 from Jammu division.

With 230 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 127,520 which is 95.15 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 222 from Srinagar, 54 from Baramulla, 34 from Budgam, 07 from Pulwama, 05 from Kupwara, 13 from Anantnag, 05 from Bandipora, 11 from Ganderbal, 26 from Kulgam and 07 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 177 from Jammu division include 99 from Jammu, 37 from Udhampur, 07 from Rajouri, 05 from Doda, 14 from Kathua, 05 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 04 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 06 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 30,170 positive cases including 476 deaths and 28,026 recoveries are from Srinagar, 9,284 including 181 deaths and 8,476 recoveries are from Baramulla, 8,451 including 7,995 recoveries and 121 deaths are from Budgam, 6,039 including 5,837 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,883 including 97 deaths and 5,666 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,256 including 5,062 recoveries and 96 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,824 cases including 4,684 and 63 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,762 including 4,649 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,962 including 2,714 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,678 including 2,595 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 26,392 including 25,228 recoveries and 383 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,429 including 4,281 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,924 including 3,831 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,471 including 3,391 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,415 including 3,272 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,889 including 2,808 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Samba, 2,757 including 2,734 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,563 including 2,508 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Poonch, 2,165 including 2,119 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Ramban and 1,701 including 1,644 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,556,065 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 59,701 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 4,483 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,368,470 persons have completed surveillance period and 121,399 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 6,286,013 samples are available. Out of 6,286,013 the number of samples tested negative stands at 6,151,998 while as 134,015 have tested positive, among them 4,483 persons are active, 127,520 persons have recovered and 2,012 persons have died—(KNO)
