Srinagar, April 30: The retirement of the Deputy Director Horticulture Kashmir, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat on Friday was officially set free from his departmental responsibilities.
Although the officer known for his efficiency, knowledge, skills and experience, honesty besides his kind heart and helpful nature, is being missed by one and all associated to Horticulture sector.
Bhat was given an overwhelming farewell today on his retirement and his colleagues and subordinates flocked around and accompanied him upto his Tullamulla residence in rejoice.
Manzoor Ahmad Bhat has played key role in the development and welfare of the Horticulture sector and his deep knowledge and scientific expertise has earned him a great name in the department which will be remembered for long.
He was architect behind establishment of centre of excellence at Zawoora Srinagar and Nemu Leh .Besides this he was instrumental in drafting hi-density apple plantation scheme during 2016-2017 and import of exotic plant material from advanced countries.
Bhat was honoured with numerous awards including one presented to him by the then Chief Minister for his outstanding services to the government. Besides, Bhat has toured many countries to gain specialised knowledge and information about the growth and progression of Horticulture sector.
Bhat is highly respected by the fruit growers and other people directly or indirectly involved in Horticulture sector. He is the only officer who has achieved tremendous success and expertise in the field.
The colleagues of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat urge him to continue serving the department saying that there’s no alternative or substitute to the services rendered by his efficiency.
People while widely applauding and appreciating the remarkable service by Manzoor Ahmad congratulated him on the successful and spotless completion of his service period, urge him to guide and train the budding growers of the district so that they would achieve a sustainable economic growth.
