Zakir had been director for UNESCO to IYDMUN-India. He has also been general secretary for Cultural Forum Kupwara besides he is the editor-in-chief for international literature and art magazine, and also a poet.

While talking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Zakir said that Sail of Memories is an anthology of philosophical poetry which includes metaphysical, themes based on nature, self-introspection, political poetry and revolutionary verses.

Zakir’s first book “The Wail of The Woods” was published in 2019.

“That lays a strong impression even at present time on my nerves, and new ideas start to trickle from it and I still seek inspiration from its strata and themes in particular,” he said.

“However, this new collection ‘Sail of Memories’ continues the same philosophy in many ways, elaboration of deceit, hopelessness, natural depiction and after-effects of colonization on the other hand. Its content fills the reader’s heart and mind with what next and how to overcome,” Zakir said—(KNO)
