Srinagar, Jun 25 A 14-year-old girl drowned in Vishu Nallah in Reshnagri area in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday morning.
Reports reaching GNS said that the teenager slipped into the water body, following which efforts were made to rescue her. Following retrieval, the girl was removed to a nearby health facility in unconscious condition, however she was declared as brought dead on arrival by the doctors there.
The deceased girl has been identified as Mafrosha Mushtaq (14) daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad.
A police official concerned confirming the incident to GNS said that the body of the teenager has been handed over to her family after conduct of necessary medico-legal formalities.(GNS)
