SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 22: Director Rural Development Kashmir, Tariq Ahmad Zargar Tuesday visited Rural Extension Training Centre, Budgam (RETC) to take on-spot review of the functioning of the Institute and to interact with the Panchayat Secretaries who are attending 3 days training programme related to GPDP, e_Gramswaroz and 15th FCA organized by the institute.

On the occasion, Principal, RETC, Budgam, Irfan Manzoor briefed about the training being imparted to PRIs, Pyt. Secretaries and other frontline workers. It was informed that this year training programmes were organised across all districts of Kashmir division at respective district headquarters in which over 600 participants including Sarpanchs, Panchs, BDCs, DDCs ICDs workers and other frontline workers of line departments participated.

Presently the Institute is imparting 3 days Capacity Building Training Programme for Panchayat Secretaries of Kashmir division. So far training has been conducted in respect of district Kuwpara , Bandipora, Baramulla, Kulgam and Ganderbal and the training in respect of remaining district shall be conducted within the next 20 days.

Meanwhile, it was also given out that three works related to repairs/ renovation of RETC buildings at Budgam have been executed at an approved cost of Rs. 48.24 lac.

Speaking on the occasion , Director highlighted the importance of training programme that equip field functionaries of Rural Development Department with latest trends vis-à-vis online interface of different schemes, so as to ensure transparency and responsibility in the functioning of the Department. The Director stressed upon the conduct of similar programme on different themes like Panchayat Budgeting, Own resource Generation of Panchayat and its linkage with Gram Swarozgar, PFMS and its integration of e-Gramswarozgar, Conduct of Mission Antyodaya Survey and Peoples Plan Campaign.

Director Stressed upon the Panchayat Secretaries to adhere to the rules and regulations governing the functioning of Panchayats.
