Srinagar, Oct 01: In a first of its kind, a court in Srinagar has sent traffic violators to jail instead of imposing a mere fine as was the practice . Sources said that several violators who had been challaned by traffic police for driving without licence were sent to jail by Additional Mobile Magistrate central Kashmir.
Meanwhile Civil Society has appreciated the move and said that such decisions would play deterrent for the traffic violators.
