Srinagar, Oct 2: Police have arrested three persons for duping a man by selling “Trath Gola (some kind heavenly object) to him in central Kashmir’s Budgam district. While police arrested the trio within two hours along with Rs four lakh, it was not immediately known why the man wanted to buy the “Trath Gola”.

“Yesterday late evening Police station Magam received a complaint from one Gulam Mohammad Wani of Kurhama Ganderbal that three persons duped him by selling ‘Heavenly ball’ ( Trati Gola) against Rs 400,000 at village Badren but while checking he found it to be a normal stone,” police said in a statement to GNS.

In this regard, it said a case (FIR No. 216/2021) under relevant sections of law was registered at Police station Magam and investigations taken up.

“All the three accused were arrested within two hours and Rs 4 lakh of the fake deal were recovered from the arrested persons.”

They have been identified as Ghulam Qadir Parray, Rafiq Ahmad Parray , both residents of Lassipora Drung and Mohammad Aslam Khan of Nadihal Bandipora.

“General public is requested not to get swayed by these inimical tactics of anti-social elements and cooperate with police to identify such elements who indulge in these activities,” police said. (GNS)
