Srinagar, Jan 10 : After representing India in international snow sculpture championships, two Kashmiri youth are now training youth in making professional snow sculptures so that they can also create a name on mega stages.

Zahoor- u- Din Lone known by the name Zahoor Kashmiri who has represented India twice in international snow sculpture championship while talking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that snow is natural in Kashmir and it is easy for people to learn making snow sculptures.

Lone said that on Monday he along with other professional snow sculpturer namely Tasaduq Hussain from Magam Budgam visited Government Degree College Magam and shared some important tips with around 20 students interested in making snow sculptures.

He said that to reach an international stage, snow is an easy medium for Kashmiris to participate in International championships.

“As snow is natural in Kashmir and there is no tension of wastage or other issues, so interested youth can take time in learning professional snow sculpturing and there is bright future in it like we have in other games like cricket,” Lone said.

Lone who hails from a small village of Pattan Singhpora in north Kashmir has pursued Masters in Fine arts from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi after completing his Bachelors in Fine Arts from University of Kashmir.

He has participated and gained experience of Snow Sculpture from ‘Snow Fiesta-2014’, organized by the Eplanner event management and J&K Tourism in Gulmarg followed by international snow sculpture championships.

He said that his team which comprises around 35 professional snow sculptures across India is in touch with tourism department of J&K to organize an international snow sculpture competition in Gulmarg in coming time for which they have got positive nod from the department,” Lone said.

Soon after recent snowfall, pictures of snow sculptures made by even small kids have gone viral on social media—(KNO)
