Inju Hussian, a resident of Shirpora area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district who has completed her BSC besides diploma, has so far made hundreds of 3D calligraphy and pottery pieces.

Inju while talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that she was interested in making sketches and other arts since her childhood and was making some pieces, however, last year due to during Covid lockdown she got much more time to make a new beginning in Arabic calligraphy.

“I started making calligraphy pieces and within just a few days I learned this art and started making calligraphy pieces,” she said.

“Once I started spending time in calligraphy, I was feeling relaxed and it was giving me a peace of mind and since then I spent one to two hours in calligraphy work every day,” she said.

Inju said that besides calligraphy she is also making pottery items and giving them a new touch by painting them.

“I believe that emotions and feelings can be drafted in words and I did the same,” she said.

Inju said that the work isn’t affecting her studies but instead the artwork rejuvenates her.

“Recently I have made a fully handmade fountain and I think I am the first female artist to make a 3D fountain,” she said, adding that, it is just a beginning and she will continue this work to add great things in future.

Inju said that the youth of J&K are very talented but there is need to direct them properly towards their goal and youth must work hard and show steadfastness in order to achieve their goal—(KNO)
